Working from Nature: without tools, what can you do?

The sixth grade discussed our basic need to make art. Even in war torn or disaster torn countries, people find a way to make art under the most difficult of situations..

The earliest art ever discovered was "found art", rocks and twigs that reminded them of other things. But without tools, how do you make art?

Andy Goldsworthy makes art from nature. Using only saliva, water, vines and mud to connect things together, his art is as natural as they come. Because his work will be detroyed over time by weather, it is his photographs of the artwork that live on. Students made their own art sculptures from natural materials and photographed them. We looked closely to see how we used elements of art in our own artwork.
